Well not sure we got the timing quite right with this one, selling our house and moving to the other side of the world just ahead of a global pandemic! đ
However weâre lucky enough to have a roof over our heads thanks to Chrisâ sister and just have to go with the flow regarding future plans.
France is on hold at the moment and currently weâre âsocial distancingâ ( love these new terms) as we and the rest of the world wait to see what the future holds.

Hello Sue and Chris. Thinking of you both and I guess France will be a bit away now as things sound really chaotic. And no eventing or racing either – how will you survive!!! Life is also chaotic here and I am sure will get worse. All my meetings have been cancelled and we are both housebound as Jim has just got back from Indonesia – made it in time before everything close down. So am now into the garden, walking dogs, reading and generally not doing much. It is pretty obvious locally that no-one wants to mix other than necessary shopping!!!! I am sure it will pass – but when??? Certainly put paid to our holidays overseas this year!!! Take good care. Liz
Hi Liz and Jim, good to hear that youâre both at home safe and sound. Sure youâll find plenty to occupy you there during isolation. Filling our days reading, watching repeats of Escape to the Château, plus picking up a pencil and paintbrush again.
France is definitely on hold, will just have to see for how long. Definitely a feeling of being in limbo!
Hi Sue and Chris, Thank goodness you are at Penelope’s and not on the road in your camper van. Definitely very unsettling for you, but lovely for Penelope not to left alone during this time. Life here is also changing here and fairly unsettling. Most of our state borders are closed today so things tightening up everywhere. Once again, how lucky are we to have our art and our partners. I feel so devastated for the millions living on their own and those now jobless, unable to pay their rent and feed their families. The govt is providing good support but accessing it is difficult as so many are seeking help all at once.

Yes weâre so lucky to be âstrandedâ where we are Robby! Plenty of art practice going on, cookery/recipe experiments and gardening when the weather allows.
