Our daily dog walks now are in shirtsleeves or a jumper rather than waterproofs and beanies!
Spring is moving towards Summer, different flowers are blooming- the daffodils and bluebells are over and we’ve started to net the gooseberries and other fruit.

The local farmers are busy cutting silage and the ground is now officially firm as we look forward to rain! Did I say that?

“The Lads” enjoyed checking out the boy’s toys on our circuit today. We count ourselves lucky in this crazy current situation to be surrounded by normal daily farm life as the seasons progress and time marches on.

You are in an idyllic spot, even though it must be very frustrating to have your plans for this year messed up. And yes, the farmers are always busy – the nation still needs to be fed.
Hi Dave, it’s great that we’re able to chat so often.
Yes what would we do without the farmers, I reckon they need a Thursday evening show of appreciation too!
Well Sue and Chris, it seems as though you are managing well in the circumstances. We are missing having you here for a chat and visit. Our life is good. The weather is perfect and we now have about 150 head of cattle on the place with lots of feed. Still waiting to get my horse!!!! Cliff’s Edge is formally retired and we are looking for a stud for him. I have gone into another yearling, helps to keep the bank balance down. Not sure when we will be able to travel again. I have a zoom conference with my brother and family in London tonight. Take good care of yourselves and thinking of you a lot.
Hi Liz and Jim,
150 cattle!! That doesn’t sound like retirement. Hopefully Cliffy will find a great home, what a horse he has been for you. Love the thought of keeping the bank balance down Liz, we’re awfully good at that – yesterday we put a deposit on a motorhome.
Stay safe and keep enjoying life on the farm xx
Well Sue, it looks as though Cliffy is going to your friend Eric Buttler at Rangal Park Stud. I think you raced a horse with him all those years ago! I am not sure whether you are still in contact with him or not. Anyway I am thrilled that he is going to such a good home and should get a much better chance than I thought he would. He just have to pass a vet test but think that should be ok. we should hear this week. It had looked as though he could go to TAS or WA so pleased he will just be down the road so to speak. Will let you know when it is all finalised. Take good care in these uncertain times.
That’s great newsLiz. Good to hear that Rangal Park is still going strong as I thought it was on the market due to Eric’s illness when we left? Would be brilliant if you could visit him just down the road 👌🤞
Hi Sue and Chris, Have just caught up on your last few blogs, finding I don’t turn on my computer too much these days. I found myself yearning for a chat with you the other day. We do miss you both dear friends. We are doing well here, surrounded by mess from the builders, particularly the plumber who has dug up the whole back yard, having to replace all the old earthen ware pipe. Lots of walking, bike riding (well just a little of that) sewing, painting (once again just a little) and keeping up with the renovations. Much love to you both and Penelope Robyn and Bill xxx
Hi Robby! Your message did come through ok 😊 Missing you guys heaps too💕Sounds like the renovations are steaming ahead, just think you can completely re design your whole back yard when the plumber is finished 😂
PS love the “Chook muriel”
