So this time it’s England again as we house sit for Penelope whilst she spends time in Australia!

Choosing the crossing from Ouistreham we were delighted with the mill pond calm sea, sunny day and our car ferry “The Normandie” – you’ve got to love a boat with a full size mare and foal sculpture and equine bronzes dotted around the decks!!

We have certainly been lucky with lovely English autumn weather and this along with the opportunity to catch up with old friends has made for a pleasant visit.

Dog sitting has also kept us active as Inka the Border Collie insists upon 2 walks a day minimum 😂

Just a few English scenes to follow and a more detailed blog coming up soon.

Just keeping an eye on things

Even managed to call in on a horse event😂😂 A super little equestrian centre with a “grassroots Xc course” ideal for schooling young horses or encouraging novice riders where the “matchy matchy attire” took priority over riding skills in a number of cases !😉

“Tumpy Green International”

Staying with the “equine” theme it was a delight to walk along the sands at Weston-Super-Mare and see groups of donkeys being prepared for little future jockeys to stroll along the beach.

The grand pier at Weston

An art installation on the seafront the See Monster (a recycled oil rig) was amazing, especially lit up at night.

Watch out for quicksands!

Finally whether you be for it or against it, there is nothing like an early start on a hunting morning and the sounds of the horn.
